《Screen Spectres》 is a book about the accelerated and repetitive production and dissolution of images. Dohyun Park uses the images included in the Golden Record as a representation of delayed dissolution, capturing the process of prolonging this dissolution and turning it into a ghostly presence. The process of scrolling through images was filmed with a webcam, then split frame by frame and printed over 100 pages. The horizontal scrolling-like reading experience evokes the process of image dissolution, but through the physicality granted by printing and bookbinding, the images do not vanish but linger somewhere, hovering.
