《날카로운 것으로부터 둥근 것이 되기까지》는 동명의 전시를 기획 단계부터 철거까지 기록한 책이다. 서울시 금천구에 위치한 타이어 전문 영업소가 조각가의 작업실이 되고, 그 공간이 다시 전시 공간으로 변모하는 과정이 담겨있다. 책에는 작업의 과정과 전시 전경, 전시 홍보물의 흔적과 전시 공간을 메운 사운드의 플레이리스트, 그리고 조각가 노혜진과 이한범 비평가의 인터뷰가 포함되어 있다. 전시가 끝난 후, 작품은 철거되어 창고로 향하고 작업실이자 전시장이었던 공간은 다시 타이어 전문 영업소로 되돌아갔다.
책을 덮고 있는 싸개는 작가가 작품 제작 과정에서 바닥에 깔아두었던 방수포를 세척하여 만들었다. 두 달간의 흔적이 남은 방수포는 200개의 서로 다른 표지가 되었다.
From Sharp to Rounded documents the entire journey of the exhibition of the same name, from its beginning to its conclusion. It captures the transformation of a tire shop in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, into a sculptor’s studio and later into an exhibition space. The book includes the artistic process, exhibition views, traces of promotional materials, a playlist of the sounds that filled the space, and interviews with sculptor Hyejin Noh and critic Hanbum Lee. After the exhibition ended, the artworks were dismantled and moved to storage, and the space, once both a studio and an exhibition venue, returned to its original function as a tire shop.
The book wrap is made from a cleaned tarpaulin sheet that the artist had laid on the floor during the artwork‘s production. Marked by two months of use, the sheet was cut into pieces, resulting in 200 unique covers.
