『글자가족 확장 실험』은 각 구성원의 머릿속에 존재하던 물음표를 네 가지 관점으로 풀어나가며 시야를 확장해가는 과정을 담았다. 구성원들은 타이포그래피의 범주에 대해 질문하며 각자의 관심사를 토대로 실험 주제를 설정하고, 워크숍을 통해 각자의 주제를 함께 다루는 시간을 가졌다. ‘한글 장체(長體), 혹은 Condensed’, ‘문장부호 연금술’, ‘글자가족엔 남자와 여자만 있나요?’, ‘글자로 인 앤 아웃!’, 총 네 가지 워크숍을 통해 글자꼴 자체의 형태부터 사용환경에 이르는 다양한 관점을 담아냈다.
Expansion Experiment of Type Family captures the process of expanding perspectives by unraveling the question marks that existed in the minds of each participant through four different viewpoints. The participants explored the boundaries of typography, setting their own experimental topics based on their individual interests, and came together in workshops to tackle these topics collectively. Through four workshops titled “Korean Long Type, or Condensed,” “Punctuation Alchemy,” “Are There Only Men and Women in the Letter Family?” and “In and Out with Letters”, the experiment delved into a wide range of perspectives, from the shapes of the letterforms themselves to their usage environments.
