『추사, 다시』는 2025년 경기문화재단 실학박물관에서 열린 동명의 전시를 기록한 책이다. 《추사, 다시》는 근대화의 문턱에 서 있던 시대를 살았던 추사 김정희(金正喜, 1786~1856)의 사상과 조형을 되짚으며, 그의 ‘파격’에 대해 오늘날의 시각 예술이 응답하는 전시다. 전시는 김정희를 문자 조형 역사에서 독보적인 입지를 다진 예술가로 바라보고, 동시대 시각 예술가 강병인, 김현진, 양장점, 함지은, DDBBMM의 작품을 통해 그의 예술적·타이포그래피적 성취를 새로운 시각으로 조명한다. 나아가 그가 펼친 파격적 문자 조형 의식이 현대 타이포그래피와 어떻게 연결되고 확장될 수 있을지 탐구한다.
Chusa, Revisited is a book documenting the exhibition of the same name held at the Silhak Museum of the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation in 2025. Chusa, Revisited revisits the ideas and visual language of Chusa Kim Jeong-hui (金正喜, 1786–1856), who lived during a period on the threshold of modernization, and explores how contemporary visual art responds to his spirit of pagyeok (unconventionality). The exhibition views Kim as an artist who established a distinctive position in the history of letterform art, and sheds new light on his artistic and typographic achievements through the works of contemporary visual artists Byungin Kang, Hyunjin Kim, Yang-Jang, Jieun Hahm, and DDBBMM. It further examines how Kim’s unconventional approach to letterforms can be connected to and expanded within contemporary typography.
