디지털 매체를 통해 감상했던 책과 포스터, 물성을 가진 디자인 작업을 실제로 마주하게 된다면, 스크린을 통해 보던 것과는 꽤 다른 인상을 주기 마련이다. 매체의 종류에 따라 작업의 크기가 달리 보이기 때문일 것이다. 이 책은 작업물의 크기에 관한 작가의 탐구가 담겨 있다. 작가는 그동안의 디자인 작업 중 실제 물성으로 구현한 것들을 선별하고, A5 판형에 실물 크기로 담았다. 작업물은 책의 판형에서 일부만 보여 다소 불친절하게 느껴지기도 한다.
When encountering books and posters, or other tangible design works in person, rather than through digital media, the impression they leave can be quite different from what is seen on screen. The main reason for this is the way the size of the work appears differently depending on the medium. This book reflects the artist’s personal curiosity about the size of his works. The artist selected designs that had been physically produced and presented them at actual size within an A5 format. In some cases, only part of the work is shown, making the presentation feel somewhat incomplete.
