This is the catalogue for Raw Archive, the 2023 graduation exhibition of the Visual Communication Design department at Hongik University. In Raw Archive, the graduating works gesture beyond polished finality, hinting at stories yet to come. The school where these students have lived and worked briefly transforms into an exhibition space for that purpose. Traces of school life — erased in the interim — are captured in photographs installed throughout the venue, revealing the processes and everyday moments behind the works. By concealing nothing, the students embrace the trial and error along the way and offer an candid account of where they stand now. Just as the past few years of running without a clear destination find resolution in a single narrative through the graduation works, Raw Archive too will serve as a foundation for the work ahead — giving rise to new stories still to come.
