『아마추어 서울 11호 – 479가지 서울』은 2021년 4월 21일부터 8월 31일까지 광화문 흥국생명빌딩에 위치한 세화미술관에서 진행되었던 ‘솔리드 시티 Solid City’ 전시에 기반을 둔다. 관람객은 전시 기간 동안 비치된 엽서 크기의 카드 및 온라인상의 설문 양식을 통해 ‘내가 사는 서울’에 대한 답변을 작성했다. 11호는 동시대를 살아가고 있는 우리가 함께 만든 서울의 지도로, 저마다의 삶의 속도와 흔적이 담긴 글로 된 이야기 지도다. 도시 생활자로서 갖는 장소에 대한 기억이나 감정뿐만 아니라 여행자로서의 섬세한 관찰력과 무한한 상상력을 엿볼 수 있기도 하다.
Amateur Seoul Vol. 11–479 Faces of Seoul is based on the Solid City exhibition, held at the Sehwa Museum of Art in the Heungkuk Life Building, Gwanghwamun, from April 21 to August 31, 2021. During the exhibition, visitors were invited to fill out postcard-sized cards or an online survey form to describe “the Seoul I live in”. Issue 11 is a collective map of Seoul created by contemporary inhabitants, where traces of individual lives and their unique pace are captured in written stories. It reveals not only memories and emotions attached to places as urban dwellers but also the delicate observations and boundless imaginations of travelers.
