『Soft Hard 1: In Conversation』는 다국어 뉴스레터이자 출판물로, 문화예술 종사자들을 위한 실험적 플랫폼이다. 디자이너, 건축가, 예술가, 큐레이터, 작가, 독립 출판인 등 다양한 문화적 배경을 지닌 전문가들이 참여하며, 느슨하고 비선형적인 구조를 통해 변화하는 관심사와 환경에 유연하게 대응하고자 한다. 첫 번째 이슈인 『Soft Hard 1』의 주제는 “대화 중(In Conversation)”으로, 다양한 실천들이 발전하는 과정에서 생겨나는 연결과 대화를 성찰한다. 2024년 얀 반 에이크 레지던시에서 임마누엘 양의 오픈스튜디오 기간 동안 프리-론치 이벤트를 진행했다.
Soft Hard is an experimental, multilingual publication. Its loose, nonlinear structure aims to serve as both a newsletter and a creative playground for cultural workers. Each new issue will invite a wide range of professionals from diverse backgrounds—designers, architects, artists, curators, writers, and independent publishers, among others—to share glimpses of their recent work in response to a given theme. The theme of the inaugural issue, “in conversation,” reflects on the various connections and dialogues that arise as different practices evolve. A pre-launch event took place during Immanuel Yang’s open studio at the Jan van Eyck Academie residency in 2024.
